tidbitsQuincy Corbel was born in Quincy, CA in 1986. She was the youngest of two girls born to Oggie and Ellen Corbel. She moved moved to Arcata when she was three years old after the death of her mom. Her older sister, Poppy as well as 'Tulip'Quincy are named after native wild flowers in the area. Growing up, Quincy and Poppy were insanely close, and were huge daddy's girls. Quincy grew up playing soccer, and loving nature. She excelled in school from an early age. Quincy is fairly laid back, but driven and knows how to achieve her goals. She can be headstrong at times, and downright stubborn but that will melt away with the right words. She likes to joke around and play tricks on people. Because she grew up with her dad, she's a bit of a tomboy. She loves the ocean, loves to hike and go fishing and camping and stuff but can still clean up nice at the end of the day, her sister having been the one to teach her all there was to know about make up and things. When Quincy was Seventeen, Just like her mother, she lost her cousin Monica in a car accident. The death was a painful reminder of the loss of her mother, but Quincy did not react violently. Instead, she flourished, her cousin's death and the reminder of how much she loved the people around her made Quincy feel much stronger as a person, and gave her motivation. She is constantly worrying about her father, who is/has been the Fire Chief for the Arcata Fire Protection District for the past ten years, before he was just a member of the team. She is a huge 49er's fan and can get carried away from time to time. At first, Quincy didn't think college was for her, but after a short month of realizing that mistake, she began working two jobs to save enough money, entering when she was twenty. She is currently majoring in
Sociology with a minor in
Natural Resources Planning and Interpretation, and will be graduating in May. However, the thing she focuses most of her time and energy on is photography, a hobby her father introduced her to, but was exploited by her friend Bradley. She is working as a coffee fetcher at a radio station in Arcata, where her boss gives her a pretty hard time if she doesn't get his order right. On top of that, she waits tables at Chili's five times a week. After school, she has no idea where she will go. Wherever the wind pushes her is in the right direction.
